When pricing out sandblasting, we, along with most companies, do it by time (hourly). Multiple factors can affect the time it takes such as the coating that is currently on it. Simple rust removal or texturing can go very quickly, whereas powder coating or years of layered paint can take longer.
Another thing you need to look at is the power of the equipment. Some companies may charge a few dollars less per hour but take two to three times longer. At Kenworthy’s, we have some of the most powerful equipment around. With our professional sandblasters, we will take the necessary time to do the job carefully and properly while still completing it faster than the competition.
We can blast all types of heavy gauge steel and aluminum. Thin material can, and likely will, warp due to the heat generated by sandblasting.
If you have questions or concerns about your item warping or the time it may take to blast, give us a call. Better yet, bring in a piece and let us test it for a better estimate on time and outcome quality.
In our booth, we use steel grit. Onsite we use aluminum oxide and soda blasting.
